A Brief Introduction to the Science Department
In science at TPS we offer a broad and balanced curriculum across the key stages.
At Key Stage 3, we cover the three key disciplines of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, all of which are taught through the use of practical investigations.
At Key Stage 4, we follow the AQA GCSE Science: Trilogy with some students completing three GCSEs in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

KS3 Curriculum Content - AQA
Year 7
Biology: Organisms, Movement, Reproduction, Variation, Interdependence
Chemistry: Particle model, Separating mixtures, Metals and non-metals, Acids and alkalis, Earth structure
Physics: Speed, Circuits, Energy, Sound, Light, Sight and hearing
Skills: Conclusions, Planning an investigation, Collecting, recording and presenting data
Year 8
Biology: Breathing, Digestion, Respiration, Photosynthesis, Evolution, Inheritance
Chemistry: Periodic table, Elements, Chemical energy, Types of reaction, Climate, Earths resources

Year 11 Assessment cycle 1
Students will undertake 3 science papers. The duration of these will 1h 15m.
