Year 11 Careers Week
Last week was Careers Week for Year 11 students at TPS. The week started with an assembly from The University of Wolverhampton looking at the different courses a number of celebrities took and how although these may not seem to link to their current career choices, it enabled them to get to where they are now. Students in the T band then took part in workshops led by the University introducing them to Higher Education - for those students who did not have the opportunity to take part in these sessions during this day, the university will be back in at the end of November to run more workshops. Each day there were a number of colleges and training providers in for students to talk to in order to prepare them to make their future choices. Each lunchtime was well attended by a number of students and there will be additional opportunities to meet with these providers at school later in the academic year. The week finished with a performance from the theatre company 2engage, encouraging students to consider the options available to them after they have finished school.
