Great news from Ofsted
Following a recent visit from Ofsted, we share the pleasing news that The Telford Priory School, as a merger of two special measures schools, has successfully moved out of this category and into a ‘Grade 3’ judgement. This positive movement is testimony to the hard work of our staff, students and the support received from our parents. The report references the ‘clear school improvement strategy’ which has ‘tackled the most pressing issues swiftly and highly effectively’ and recognises how we continue to focus on improving the consistency of good behaviour and effective teaching and learning in our school.
We are delighted that OFSTED have recognised the significant improvements which we have made, for example in attendance and teaching, following the merger in 2015 and that this important milestone has been reached.
As a team, we appreciate that we are still in the middle of our school improvement journey, and that there are key points which we of course, continue to address and strengthen; however, we are happy that OFSTED have recognised the “better progress” which students are making and our “determination” to succeed.
The impact of the Community Academies Trust has also been praised for being ‘challenging…highly effective… [and] instrumental’ in enabling the school to move into the next era of its life so quickly.
This report is encouraging for us as a school and we remain committed to embracing the challenges ahead to ensure that our school goes from strength to strength.
